Well Hello

My name is Anna and I've worked as a printed texile designer in the fashion industry for over 15 years.

I create textile designs for highstreet fashion and have worked with brands including M&S, Monsoon, Oliver Bonas & Anthropologie.

I live in Jericho, Oxford in the UK - a pretty area perfectly sandwiched between the City Centre, Port Meadow and the river Thames.

I live with my partner Ed, our 3 children, plus our guinea pigs; Betty and Skye.

I always wanted to have my own brand one day, but was never quite sure what it would look like. I was so used to working to a design brief for other people, I wasn't entirely sure what my style was anymore! Working with Oliver Bonas was certainly a turning point, it re-taught me to look for inspiration in all things - not just other fashion stores - and gave me more confidence and creative freedom.

As a freelancer, each time I had a baby and maternity leave, I would have to begin again reconnecting with old contacts and searching for new work. After my 3rd child it was the same situation but the retail landscape was starting to shift, there was less work around and I couldn't throw myself into a full time role with 3 small humans at home.

I was full of ideas though so I started drawing, painting & collaging - at first to build a portfolio but as the collection grew I loved them too much to sell them on for someone else to use. So I settled on cushions and fabric by the metre as a starting point, as despite ending up working in fashion I've always had a thing for homewares.

I hoped that maybe the adaptability I'd learnt as a freelance designer could be my unique selling point as a brand. I wanted to create designs for every room and purpose in my home - for the kids, living, dining and garden and I didn't want all of those areas to look the same!

How I work

I tend to randomly gather inspiration over time usually on my phone, photographing and screenshoting things as I see them, when it comes to creating something new I pull it all together and usually find a common theme!

I'm inspired by local museums such as the Natural History Museum, Pitt Rivers and The Ashmolean (I love the porcelain room), my slightly wild but (thanks to the previous owners) well stocked garden, and Instagram and Pinterest are fantastic for pulling together colour ideas and a great barometer for trends.

Instagram is a great source of inspiration for me - I often look back at what I've liked and find great colour combinations and themes

Everything is first created by hand with watercolour, pen, ink, chalk or collage. I then move onto the computer but always retain the hand painted feel of my designs, Photoshop is a fantastic tool for tweaking, recolouring and working designs into a repeat.

CUSHIONS, POUCHES, FACE MASKS

 & BY THE METRE

My artworks are printed onto fabric in the UK using a digital textile printer - while this doesn't sound as romantic as silk screen print it is brilliantly versatile - it preserves all of the original textures, tones and brush marks from the original and allows me to have 30+ designs in the range.

The cushions, pouches and face masks are sewn in Oxford by Sara, a highly skilled seamstress.

All of the cushions and fabrics are currently printed and sewn to order - this has allowed me the flexibility to create so many designs and to also allow you to choose your own print combinations and fabric bases.

I do sometimes hold stock at busier times of year - check out my 'in stock' page if you want something quickly.

Please expect your cushions and fabric by the metre to take around 2 weeks for delivery in the UK.

LAMPSHADES

The fabric is printed in the UK and then handmade by me to order. I also regularly open slots for my lampshade kits for you to make one at home. You can select any two prints from the collection.

WALL ART

In June I took the bold step of purchasing my very own proffessional grade A3+ printer, this is complete with 10 archival grade ink cartridges that give amazing depth and long lasting colour - up to 200 years, and to do it justice I also use the best quality paper I could find made by Hahnemuehle. This produces museum quality Giclee prints. Prints can be shipped immediately.

TEA TOWELS

Tea towels are printed and sewn in Manchester, they are generally held as stock and usually available to ship immediately.

TRADE ACCOUNT

If you're an interior designer, curtain maker, upholstery firm or similar do get in touch if you'd like to set up a trade account. I can also arrange for a set of samples base fabrics and prints for you to show your clients.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

I ship to Europe (eu countries), USA & Australasia  I am happy to ship elsewhere so please do get in touch and I can set up a delivery option for you on the website. This excludes by the metre orders via the website - due to the weight of the fabric - but I am very happy to quote for individual projects and invoice directly.

Although every effort is made to ensure continuity between the swatches, cushions and fabrics, due to the printing process subtle colour variations may occur between batches.
