I'm working my way through Rollingstone Magasines top 500 albums so I'm trying to make a note of the music I find and listing it as I go.
There are the albums that made me want to listen again straight away.
Worth a second listen
Oh Beck, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. The amazing beats, psychadelic mood and generally grooviness is just the best - so lovely to revisit this album that I stole from my brother in my youth.
Favourite track: I can't choose you need to listen to the whole album start to finish :)
LCD Soundsystem "Sound of Silver"
You find yourself bopping along, a bit David Bowie and a bit The Killers - so many great tunes.
THE PHARCYDE "BIZARRE RIDE II THE PHARCYDE"
Apparently the West Coast answer to De La Soul
Favourite track: "Passin Me By"
OTIS READING "DICTIONARY OF SOUL"
One of the few male artist I've listened to that gave me the impression he actually *liked* women and his tunes make me feel good!
Favourite Track: "Try and little tenderness"
Songs from my youth, so many hits
The roots "things fall apart"
"The Nineties’ alternative-rap scene hit its high-water mark as an album-length art form with this love letter to black music in the late 20th century." Rollingstone
Must Listen: "The return to Innocence lost" but also please listen to the whole thing
CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL "COSMOS FACTORY"
"these guys could mix hippie visions with populist grit" Rollingstone
If you have Apple Music you can listen to my picks so far here
